Placenta Encapsulation

Testimonials

"I just wanted to thank you. August, 2012, you dried and encapsulated my son's placenta. It was large enough that I only needed half of my 2-container batch to help me through the postpartum period. However, my husband became life-threateningly-ill October 2012 (after an organ transplant, he's nearly back to full health again). I was too busy to cope with it emotionally until now, and its been overwhelming, but I've begun taking my placenta pills (which I stored in my freezer) to try and cope with the stress. Like before, I feel more energized and more stable. Without those pills, I think I'd be a mess. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

You gave me life after birth and now you've given me life after near-death. I swear by encapsulation and have recommended you (and the process) to all friends who are or are planning to become pregnant. Thank you for doing what you do." - Brandi M

"Growing up I had a been diagnosed with depression that was later diagnosed as bipolar disorder. When my midwives suggested encapsulation I was skeptical at first but after researching it some more I wanted to try it. I have found that with the capsules I am a happier and more productive mother ... even my skeptical husband see's the difference" - Kat, mom to one

"Tamara, Thank you so very much for your special care and professionalism with encapsulating my placenta. I am feeling great and will definitely be in contact with you for my next birth. I especially love the heart keepsake you made from the cord, I put it in a frame and it is a beautiful reminder of how my daughter and I were connected. Thank you so much!" - Julie, first time mom

"I am so happy to have found Tamara and tried placenta encapsulation. Me and my baby are doing fantastic and I believe the pills have helped me greatly with my postpartum period. Thanks again Tamara!!" - Jody, first time mom

"My husband and I decided to do a home birth with a midwife. During the course of our research we came across the idea and practice of encapsulating the placenta. I came across Tamara's website (aka Placenta Mom) and contacted her. From the start there was no commitment. I asked her all of the questions I needed to in order to feel comfortable about my choice. She was extremely delightful and knowledgeable about the practice.

Cut to the day I went into labor. I had not made an arrangement with Tamara! I had a beautiful home birth with my midwives and mentioned I hadn't nailed down encapsulating the placenta. One of the midwives said "Are you going through Tamara? I refer all of my clients to her." I was sold, she had Tamara's contact info in her cell phone. We literally called her while I held my newborn. Tamara was at my house the next day and delivered my placenta vitamins the following day. She accommodated her schedule to allow for us to encapsulate our placenta and I'm extremely grateful to her.

I had postpartum depression with my first and for me it was taking a step to prevent this from happening with my second child. I have taken the vitamins since my daughter's birth and would do it again. I highly recommend Tamara and encapsulating the placenta for mom and baby!" - Lori O.

"I knew I wanted to reap the benefits of ingesting my placenta, yet making a "placenta smoothie" just wasn't too appealing. Once I heard about placenta encapsulation, I knew it was what I wanted. It completely takes that "ew" factor out of placenta-ingestion; it's like adding another vitamin to your daily mix.

I heard about the Placenta Mom two days after giving birth. With my placenta safely in the fridge, I sent Tamara a text. Her response was very quick and she was at the house that evening to pick up the package. Encapsulation took the entire next day, in this case, and she returned the pills (along with a surprising and heartfelt memento) the following morning along with very clear instructions and precautions.

I've followed Tamara's recommended capsule regimen and love them! While I don't know what my postpartum mood would have been like without them, I do know that they have lifted my mood even higher than it was already. I remember the first day I started taking them; I was taking a picture of my parents and sister holding the baby and found something particularly hilarious about the way they were posed. They couldn't figure out why I was laughing to the point of tears. The only thing I could do to explain the fit was to point at the tub of capsules. Taking My placenta in this way gives me a little daily boost of confidence and reassurance. I just feel better, more capable.

I highly recommend encapsulating your placenta and using Tamara, the Placenta Mom, to do so! While your physical interactions with her are short and sweet, she truly does take care of each mom as if she were family." - Andy, first time mom

I suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome- I had it for about 2 years before pregnant. It was one of my main concerns how I would hold up after pregnancy. My husband found out about this and suggested it. I had a hard time with the concept but he was insistent. I am so so glad we did. A week after pregnancy I was completely normal hormonally and I had energy to get up all night. I could tell when I missed a day because I would be weepy and would feel tired. I contribute my fast recovery and great feeling to taking these pills. I wish I had a year supply! Tamara was great- she met my husband at the hospital to pick up the placenta and dropped it off at our house. :)" - First time Mom/Dad, Melissa and Justin

"I was hesitant to have my placenta encapsulated, but had heard great things about the benefits from doulas, my lactation consultant, and friends. So I decided to try it, and could not be happier that I did. After taking the pills, my mood swings evened out, I had more energy, and I was able to be a better mother to my baby. I would absolutely recommend placenta encapsulation by Tamara to any new mom." - H.R., first time mom

"I really cannot say enough good things about my experience with placenta encapsulation. I did it with my first birth and found them to be absolutely necessary. I had a lot of really difficult things going on in my life at the time of my first birth and really feel that I could have easily slipped into depression so easily. I truly feel that having the capsules helped me stay on top emotionally and physically. It helped my milk to come in and remain plentiful. I was amazed at how quickly my body healed afterward even though it had been a pretty traumatic birth. Luckily, I had saved some capsules from my first birth and was able to start taking them immediately after my second birth. I was even more amazed this time around. My milk came in even faster than the first time and faster than the midwives had expected. My body healed so quickly. I was able to escape the "day three tears" as the midwives called them. All in all, I would not fail in recommending Tamara's services to any mom open to the idea. She was so great and worked with me in such a kind way. It felt good knowing my placenta was being treated so well and by such a wonderful person. I'm absolutely sure that part of the reason the capsules worked wonders for me was because of the love that Tamara puts into her work. Thank you Mother Goddess and Tamara for such a magical gift." - Shea, Mom to Harper and Alaizah

"I had Tamara encapsulate my placenta from both of my pregnancies. It is part of Chinese culture and she did a great job. She was very responsive as we live in the Bay Area. I believe it has helped eliminate any postpartum depression. We recommend her services and recommend the encapsulation.' - Lucy

"I decided to encapsulate my placenta after doing research online and speaking to my midwife. Depression runs in my family and I have heard some horror stories about postpartum blues. I also had a breast reduction three years prior to having my daughter so I was also concerned about my milk supply. As a first time mom, I don't really have anything else to compare it to but I can tell you some facts: Tamara is professional, knowledgeable and kind. I would not hesitate to recommend her and will use her again with any future children's placentas. I did not experience ANY postpartum depression and I am able to nurse my daughter. I couldn't have been happier with the outcome of my encapsulation or Tamara's services." - Chloe

"Thank you for encapsulating my placenta! I decided to give it a try as a means of improving my milk supply. With my previous babies (this is number 4) I have struggled to have enough milk. My baby is now 3 weeks old and so far my milk has been plenty for him. I feel like the placenta capsules have made the difference. I will definitely do this again if I have another baby in the future and would recommend it to anyone I know who it pregnant!" - Rebecca, mom of 4

"I appreciate you for going out of your way to make sure I got the capsules.  Thank you so much, things have been great and I have been taking the capsules faithfully.  Motherhood is amazing and I am enjoying every moment with my little one.
Thank you again for everything, I will be contacting you again when we decide to have a second baby!" - C, First time mom

"Having battled depression in the past, I contacted Tamara to get my placenta encapsulated so that I could avoid PPD following the birth of my first baby. Tamara was speedy in her responses to my emails and showed up at my house the day after I let her know that I had delivered. A month after giving birth, I feel great! I had about two days of "the blahs" in that first week, but today I feel fantastic and I'm enjoying every moment of new motherhood!" - Faith, first time mom

"I decided to encapsulate my placenta with my third baby in hopes to avoid postpartum depression. PlacentaMom was so great and understanding that I didn't want to watch. I've been taking my pills for 2 weeks and feel great! I had to stop taking my pills for a few days due to Mastitis and noticed an increase in bleeding and a definite lack of energy. Since I am saving the majority of my pills for weaning I won't be taking anymore. I can't wait to have these pills to take a year from now."
- Jacquelyn, mom to three

"I was very pleased how Tamara quickly turned my placenta into capsules. Within two days i was taking them, i did not feel any signs of the baby blues or postpartum depression. I'm thankful for people like Tamara" - Happy Mom

"I initially heard about Placenta Encapsulation during our Doula interviews, then through a friend who had used Tamara's services. She was very responsive to all my emails and let us know everything about the procedure, from what to do at the hospital (we birthed at Kaiser South Sac and they were very familiar with the procedure) to what would happen at home. The best part, in my opinion, was getting to see what my placenta looked like--I don't think many women even give theirs a second thought. It was pretty cool seeing what had been keeping my baby company and nourished for the past 9 months. As any first time mama would know the first days after giving birth are exhausting and your body is so sore, the last thing you think you'd want is to "entertain" a stranger in your home, but Tamara is not there to be entertained. She was as quite as a mouse and very pleasant. She comes fully equipped with all her necessities and leaves no mess behind. We had a wonderful experience working with her and would definitely do it again should we have more children. And, she dried our son's umbilical cord into the shape of a heart, what a sweet surprise and lovely keepsake. Thanks again, Tamara" - Stephanie, first time mama

"Dear Tamara, Thank you so much for providing such a healing and supportive service to mothers and families. I must tell you, I have been so grateful for the placenta capsules...with my first child's birth two years ago, I went into the postpartum blues without realizing it--and didn't come out of them until I started taking the pills two years later with the birth of my second child. As someone with a bipolar past, I can tell you that the opportunity to heal naturally, with the help of something created within my own body, is such a blessing and an amazing gift. With other kinds of medicines, I may have had to discontinue nursing, and I may not have come out the other side feeling like my true self. But with this natural healing option, I have had the energy, patience, and physical ability to care for my family and my children throughout this time of drastic change. Thank you for your generous works of love. I would recommend this simple and painless process to anyone." - Lesley, mother of two

"13 months after my daughter was born I started getting hot flashes and hormonal headaches. Plus also being very foggy heady from the previous year with lack of sleep. Knowing about placenta encapsulation and the possible benefits, I tried it. My daughter began to wean and the hot flashes, and hormone swings were barely there. Now that I am done taking the capsules I have not had one headache or mood swing. So thankful that Tamara reached out to me and I gave it a try! This is an amazing FREE thing our body gives back to us mommies. We should utilize the benefits more! Thanks Tamara!" - Sara mother of two, after 2nd baby

"I felt the capsules definitely helped with getting my hormones and mood back on track, and my milk supply. I'm very glad I encapsulated my placenta, and will do it again with my next baby. Tamara was great to work with, she made it very easy by coming out to our house and working with times that worked best for us." - Second time Mom

"Choosing to encapsulate my placenta was by far one of the best decisions I made in regards to pregnancy/child birth. It never even crossed my mind until I heard about it on a pregnancy podcast. I decided to do some research and it just seemed like such a natural wonderful thing to do. I had a friend that had ppd after the birth of her first child and I knew that I wanted to try everything possible to avoid getting it as well. The first few days after my baby was born I cried everyday because of exhaustion and so many conflicting emotions. Around 4 days postpartum my capsules were finished and I started taking them. I truly felt so much better! I recommend this service to every pregnant mom I know, and I will definitely have my placenta encapsulated again :) Thank you Tamara" - First time mom

"Placenta encapsulation is one of the best decisions we made during our pregnancy. After giving it a lot of thought, my husband and I decided to contact Tamara to start the amazing process. My placenta was encapsulated shortly after our return from the hospital and I started taking them immediately. I noticed an increase in energy and I wasn't as "moody" when I took the pills. We will definitely contact Tamara for our future pregnancies, and recommend her services to anyone currently pregnant" - Emily Edwards

"I did not know about Placenta Encapsulation when I had my first baby, but respected his placenta enough to put it back into the earth, wrapped in his receiving blanket, buried under a beloved tree in our back yard. This time around I called Tamara and I feel fantastic! I would do it again in a heartbeat and have been spreading the word to other women" - Bethany Sasaki, RN and Mother of 2

"I decided to have my placenta encapsulated upon the recommendation of my midwife. She said that other patients had had great postpartum experiences with encapsulation, and she believed strongly that it eased the transition into the 4th trimester. Tamara was fantastic. I emailed her when I returned home from the birth center and she got back to me that night. She was at my house with all her tools the next day around noon. She cleaned all of her work areas before and after use (bonus clean kitchen sink). She is very friendly and easy to talk to. Tamara returned the next day and left us with a 135 pills, and a dried umbilical cord in the shape of a heart. I'll admit there was a bit of an ick factor as I took my first few doses, but that quickly faded when I realized how fantastic I felt. I really couldn't believe I had just had a baby a few days before. Although I was busy with a two year old and up quite a bit at night with a newborn, I still had lots of energy, and generally felt great. I also healed very quickly. I now refer to the pills as "my happy pills", because they really do seem to effect my mood. I can tell the difference when I skip a day. I feel generally calmer, and happier. Much more able to deal with the stresses that come with a new baby, than I was after my previous birth. I am SUCH a believer in placenta encapsulation I recommend it to all mothers. The process is so easy and the benefits are huge. Thank you so much Tamara." - Melissa, second time mom/birth doula

"During her postpartum period, I definitely noticed a positive difference in my wife's emotions and mood when she would take the capsules. - Kyle Edwards

"As a first time mom, I was not sure how the fluctuation in hormones after delivering my son would affect me. I wanted to do everything I could to help myself through that period, this is why I decided to encapsulate my placenta. I found Tamara to be extremely professional and pleasant to work with. I would highly recommend her to anyone I knew who was considering doing this. As far as the effects of the pills go, it's hard for me to say how they effected me in my postpartum period as this was my first baby. I did have a few weepy days, but as my husband pointed out, they might have been worse if I hadn't been taking the pills. I'll never know, but I have no regrets on having my placenta encapsulated and will do it again if we have another baby." - Andrea- first time mom

"I gave birth to our first child in July of 2010, I do have a history of depression and was very concerned I was likely to be susceptible to postpartum depression.  I first heard of placenta encapsulation during our natural childbirth classes.  After doing some research about the positive benefits I decided it would definitely be worth it even if I experienced only a fraction of the possible benefits it would be worth it.  Tamara was recommended by our birth class instructor and Doula.  I was apprehensive about having a stranger in our home during such a fragile time, but Tamara was so kind, quiet and professional.  She has a very loving energy about her and did her work with dignity and precision, having her in our home was not intrusive in the least. It was actually nice to have her there for the short period of time over a few days.  As for the outcome, I did not experience any depression whatsoever, I had only one extreme emotional day but that was the day before I started on the capsules!  My breast-milk flow was perfect, I did not get any breast infections, I felt amazing as a first-time mother, and my now 8 month old has not yet been sick, at all.  To any expecting mother I would say do the research on the history of placenta consumption, and then hire Tamara! I highly recommend Tamara Morales to any mother considering encapsulation.  I would most certainly work with Tamara again if I have more children in the future." - Allison

"I have a history of depression, so when I became pregnant I was very worried about postpartum depression, probably even more than many first time mothers. So, when I heard about placenta encapsulation I was very interested. I did some research on the topic and the testimonials convinced me that this would be something that I would like to do. Tamara came to prepare the placenta the day after my baby was born. She was so informative and knowledgeable and hearing her own experience with postpartum I knew I had made the right decision.

I began taking the capsules after they were ready (three days after birth) and felt really well the first week. I did experience mild sadness and bouts of crying a week after birth, which lasted for two days, just a few minutes each day. Other than that, I felt very well during the weeks after the birth of my baby, even in spite of the difficulties my son and I experienced (within the first three weeks of life, we had horrible trouble breastfeeding, my son had two surgeries on his tongue, and we were diagnosed with thrush. All said, we visited the doctor 17 times in 21 days). These unforeseen difficulties would have caused anyone to feel upset and frustrated – and I was no exception – but these circumstances did not lead me to fall into a depression – which was almost expected by my partner and family. I believe this was because I was taking the placenta pills.

I am so thankful that I received the information about placenta encapsulation – as I had never heard of it before. I believe that had I not had the pills I would have experienced a more severe postpartum depression, especially when I take into consideration the difficulties my baby and I experienced in the first weeks after birth. I would absolutely encapsulate my placenta again and look forward to working with Tamara in the future." - First time mom

"I had postpartum depression with my daughter and it was something I didn't want to deal with again. I came across this ina parenting magazine while doing research on natural ways to treat postpartum. I was a little skeptical (and honestly a little grossed out), but the research was compelling and made sense. Tamara then came to our Bradley Birth Class and my husband and I talked about it again and decided it was a good idea. Tamara was friendly and professional. I would recommend this and her to anyone who asked about it. I only take them as needed, but it really has made a difference." - Hannah, second time mom, previous PPD sufferer

"I heard of placenta encapsulation through my doula, Jackie Belau. She talked about how it helps postpartum adjustments and hormones. I was ready to try anything that would make the postpartum stage more enjoyable. I knew that it would be a stressful time right after the baby was born and if I could find a remedy to help I would be amenable to give it a shot. I emailed Tamara and she promptly responded and put me on her calendar. We called Tamara the day we had our son and she was able to come by and start the encapsulation process. Tamara then came back the following day and finalized the pills. She was professional, very thorough, and took time to answer all of my questions and my husband's. She also gave us some great parenting tips as we are first time parents. Tamara is easy going and friendly and I was happy to have her in my home. I started taking the pills two days post birth and I can say that I felt really great. I do believe it helped regulate my hormones and emotions. The only reason for any of my crying episodes postpartum were due to my challenges breast feeding and sore nipples. I would encapsulate my placenta again with my next child and have already recommended Tamara's services to other pregnant moms I know." - Cathy D.

"I decided to encapsulate my placentas after hearing about the benefits of doing so from my acupuncturist and friends. The process was very easy and I liked knowing that the precious thing that nurtured my babies for nine months would not be simply discarded with hospital trash, but instead would be used to nourish me as I made milk for my new babies. I truly believe that taking the placenta pills helped prevent me from suffering from postpartum depression and helped me make enough milk for my two little ones. I would definitely recommend placenta encapsulation to all mothers."  - Lisa Nicolls, first time mom to twins

"This was a wonderful experience. My wife, Megan, did not seem to have much if any depression. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Also as a chef, I found it very interesting and appreciated Tamara sharing some of her knowledge with me."  - Megan's Husband

"I decided to encapsulate my placenta because it was recommended by my midwife. I had a lot of bleeding after my daughter's birth and she thought it would be good for me. My experience with the process of encapsulating was great. Tamara was very professional and did a great job. The capsules themselves have been good. It is hard to tell what they have done for me, but when comparing this postpartum with my last I would say I recovered from birth much faster and have had less postpartum depression. I think a lot of factors go into the reason for that and one of them is the capsules. Thank you so much Tamara!"  - Megan, second time mom

"Yes! Absolutely! I would do it again (and plan to) on all future pregnancies. I did not experience any of the baby blues or postpartum depression. I was emotionally stable, except for one day that I forgot to take my placenta pills. My bleeding stopped completely after only 3 weeks, and my milk came in (in abundance) on day 2. Definitely worth the money. It did everything I hoped it would do and more! "  - Jenifer, first time mom

"I learned about encapsulating my placenta from a friend's wife. It made perfect sense when I really thought about how important the placenta is! I needed to learn more so I jumped online and talked around. I quickly stopped calling it "eating my placenta" because people picture a fork & knife. No one knew or understood how valuable it is. I was so happy to know I could save my own "life-maker" to ensure a happy postpartum and lots of milk.

I was planning to have my husband drive to San Fransisco the day after our baby was born with a cooler filled with placenta. I was sad to know he'd be hours away during a time I'd want him near so bad. However, I knew how valuable encapsulating my placenta would be. Thankfully my husband, who was a willing participant in this, found Tamara online the month our baby was born and she was local!!! I was so happy when he told me. My husband arranged everything, which wasn't difficult and Tamara showed up at our home and did her job. I thought it might be weird to have a stranger in my house right after I had a baby. It wasn't strange at all. Tamara was a nice woman who believes in what she is doing. It is wonderful that we have a way to naturally treat hormonal "conditions" without medication! The cost of encapsulation is worth it because health is priceless.  - Quinn's Mom

"I decided to have my placenta encapsulated because of its benefits: milk production, postpartum healing, possible prevention of postpartum depression, and may be saved for menopause. My experience has overall been good. I wish I had spent some time to see the actual placenta, but I was too busy and tired after the birth of Noelle Sage. I feel that I had a little postpartum depression still, but feel that maybe it is because it is my first child or maybe because I choose to only take two placenta capsules a day opposed to the recommendation. Tamara is very sweet and personable as well as respectful. I'd recommend this to anyone with an open mind and an open heart & I would definitely do this again without a thought."
- Andreea & Kelly, first time mother & father

"I become interested in the idea after reading an article about it on offbeatmama.com. I found Tamara on Sac Healing Artists and agreed to the encapsulation. After an emergency c-section I started taking the capsules as directed on day three. I was out and about by the second week home from the hospital and felt like I had a very speedy recovery. Will definitely do this again because it really helped balance my hormones and sped up the healing process. I started recommending encapsulation by the second week home!"  - Michelle, first time mom

"I decided to do placenta encapsulation because I had severe depression after the birth of my first son. I wanted to try this because I really didn't want to take antidepressants this time. My daughter is 10 weeks old and I feel great with no signs of the baby blues."  - anonymous

"I was intrigued by the potential benefits of encapsulation and finally decided to do it approximately one week before I had my daughter. I found Tamara easily online and was impressed immediately. When she responded to me right away I knew she was the one to do it. My experience was fantastic! She was very professional yet personable and gave me great info on encapsulation as well as other amazing parenting tips. I will never forget who amazing my postpartum experience was thanks to this process. I absolutely plan to do this again and recommend the process to everyone. I will definitely recommend Tamara to all my local friends."  - Tiffany, first time mom

"Tamara was really nice and wasn't in the way at all. Things are busy around the house with a newborn & having her here wasn't bad at all. Thanks so much Tamara!"  - First Time Mom

"The fee we paid for Tamara to encapsulate our placenta was worth every penny and so much cheaper then the thousands for therapy and antidepressants we had to spend out of pocket after the birth of our second child." - Leslie

"Very pleased with the services." - Second Time Mom

"After our first child my wife got postpartum depression pretty bad, so that pretty much guaranteed that we were not going to have any more kids.  When we found out that there was a #2 on the way, she started to look for things that would help with postpartum.  She found out about placenta encapsulation and asked me if we should do it, after reading up on it, it made perfect sense on why and how it should work.  Thankfully it worked and we had a great experience with this birth. - Happy Husband

"The entire process and my postpartum period were great! I have two other children, but this was the first time I have encapsulated my placenta for ingestion. The benefits were undeniable! Now I wish I had encapsulated after my previous births since the difference really stood out to both me & my family. - Josie

"It was great and I really enjoyed Tamara and all the information she shared with me." - Mom to Three Boys
