Benefits of Placenta Capsules
The placenta has amazing abilities during the postpartum period; it can heal, sustain, and strengthen.
Traditionally Placenta Capsules are used to help:
- balance your hormones
- enhance milk supply
- increase your energy.
Placenta Capsules may also help:
- You to recover more quickly from birth
- To bring the body back into balance
- Prevent the "baby blues"
- Shorten postpartum bleeding
- Assist the uterus to return to size
- Increase postpartum iron levels
Women who take placenta capsules report fewer emotional issues and enjoy a faster, more pleasant postpartum recovery. Women, and their families, notice a marked improvement in overall feelings of happiness and well-being when taking placenta capsules. My PlacentaMom clients often refer to their placenta capsules as “happy pills!”
The role of the placenta does not stop at birth, so do not let your placenta go to waste...Encapsulate!

The Placenta's Healing Chemicals
The
known ingredients that give the placenta its healing properties are:
- Gonadotrophin - the precursor to estrogen, progesterone and testosterone
- Prolactin - promotes lactation
- Oxytocin - for pain and bonding; produced during breastfeeding to facilitate bonding of mother and infant. In
pharmaceutical form this is a very addictive drug because it promotes a feeling of connectedness with others and
is often referred to as the “love” hormone
- Interferon - stimulates the immune system to protect against infection
- Thyroid Stimulating Hormone - boosts energy and helps recover from stressful events
- Cortisone - combats stress and unlocks stores of energy
- Prostaglandins - anti-inflammatory
- Hemoglobin - replenishes iron deficiency and anemia
- Gammaglobulin - immune booster that helps protect against postpartum infections
- Urokinase Inhibiting Factor & Factor XIII - stops bleeding and enhances wound healing
The placenta is full of feel-good hormones and healing chemicals, so it makes sense to safely welcome them back into your system during your postpartum period via placenta encapsulation in order to have a happy babymoon.

Why Hire a Professional Placenta Encapsulation Specialist?
While you bond with your new baby, I will conveniently pick up and prepare your placenta for you while you enjoy your babymoon. I work hard to be “on call” for you and will make every effort to pick up and prepare your placenta within the ideal time frame for encapsulation.
My service is safe and discreet, and as a mom of two little ones I know how special this time can be, so I work to make the smallest impact on you and your family while preparing the placenta. Since we perform placenta encapsulation services in our facility, there are no unnecessary disturbances in your home.
I adhere to all OSHA & EPA guidelines regarding blood-borne pathogen transmission, infection prevention, standards for sanitation, and safe food handling. All materials used are thoroughly sterilized between each use, when not disposable, and everything meets food grade standards. Aside from the medicinal aspects, I treat the placenta as sacred, and will focus on honoring the work it has done to nourish your baby, while preparing it to continue its work nourishing you.
Worried about how to get your placenta home from the hospital or what is proper handling? No worries. Most frequently asked questions regarding the placenta encapsulation process have been addressed here, but if you have further inquiries please feel free to ask.

The Process
During the encapsulation of your placenta I use methods that adhere to the Traditional Method (based on TCM) of preparation. Before being dried, the placenta is prepared using herbs, in the steaming waters, that lend their healing properties to the placenta and benefit a postpartum mother. The placenta is then ground and encapsulated, and when properly stored, the capsules can be used long-term. You can begin taking the capsules right away for maximum postpartum benefits.
Following the birth of your baby, I pick up the placenta and prepare it following all of the above mentioned safety standards. The finished capsules are then either dropped off or mailed back once finished (depends on location and current client load). Moms usually have their finished placenta capsules within 24-72 hours of me receiving their placenta, dependent on location and current client load.
